i just find it so weird that some of y’all have a big platform and continue to just ignore these serious ass issues. i get that politics isn’t for everyone. and that maybe you don’t wanna “talk” about it. but as a black person, it’s shoved in my face everyday. and in every other black person’s face.

i never talk about these things but i can’t remain silent.
i know tumblr doesn’t give a SHIT when things happen in countries outside the “most popular ones” (such as the usa & england). it’s true, don’t lie to me. y’all don’t give A FUCK. not every issue and problem in said countries gets the appropriate exposure but in general shit shows up on the news WORLD FREAKING WIDE. you set up donations, you help out, your spread the word, you say “pray for x”……

people are dying - at home, on the road, trying to run away, in their cars.
yesterday my country had 300 active fires.
people are losing EVERYTHING they own.
i have a friend that is on a train right now passing through places that have been burnt to the ground and she says the smoke is so intense it’s getting inside the train and she can barely breathe.
and yet, even though several people (myself included) have been trying to bring awareness to what has been happening in southern europe… what we get from most of you, those not part of the countries suffering, is silence. we don’t ask for money, we don’t ask for shit other than a reblog to spread awareness… something you can delete in 24/48hrs if you wish.
i don’t know what to tell you. i’m angry. i’m frustrated. i’m disappointed. i feel like i’m screaming into the void. “a reblog does nothing” - you know that’s a damn lie, you know exposure always helps, you know people start paying attention when posts on social media become popular. my country in particular is a small one, we get ZERO exposure. y’all are only starting to figure out we even fucking exist bc of the shit we’ve been winning lately.
but hell, if the EU doesn’t give a shit, why should some user on tumblr dot com?

This is fucking important. I am glad someone fucking spoke about this and said what they had to say. The damage is terrible, and all the evergreen, stone, even the ground is black. I was fucking terrified when Croatia was burning. The fire was near a village where I like and I thought it will burn down. I thought the church will burn down. I thought the cemetery where my grandpa is buried will burn. I still remember the smell of smoke, and when I went to check how bad is fire, my clothes and hair and skin all stunk of smoke. It didn’t go away for weeks.

Hello.
I am a 23 year old Indian muslim lesbian living with my homophobic and abusive parents. I came out to my parents a couple of months back in July and it has been painful ever since. I made a post about this before but the situation has only gotten worse ever since.
My father has started hitting me physically and my mother just walks out of the room whenever that happens. He keeps blaming me for "being like this" and tells me how I don't deserve to live. I had my laptop taken from me and I have to sneak into their room in the mornings when they are asleep to use my phone. It is currently 9AM and I am shaking in fear of being caught. I cannot call the cops because I live in a homophobic society and they may agree with his actions.
I know that you may not care about a stranger on the Internet at all but I am begging you to help me in any way possible. A reblog works and so does a single cent. I need to leave this place.

She was beteeen 12 and 14 years old when he started raping her, and Jefferson was in his forties. He freed the children that he had with her, but not Sally. Her daughter had to free her mother after Jefferson passed away.
This is not taught in schools. This side of history. We are supposed to consider the founding fathers as great men, fighting for justice and freedom, guided by God... when they are evil men. Selfish men who did nothing, save that it was for their own aggrandisement, personal benefit, and financial gain.
I would also like to add that Sally was Jefferson's dead wife's half sister. Sally's mother was raped by her owner, who was Martha (wife of Thomas) Jefferson's father.
These people left a legacy.
A legacy of entitlement under the most criminal of circumstances, and White Supremacist beliefs which pervade U.S. Society and Culture, to this very day.

Just him, her, and the stars.
Madison felt her heart drop into the depths of Tartarus as the small smile that once graced her soft lips disappeared into the light fog that caressed the two of them. What did he just say?
He... He loved her?
She stared down at the grass they sat upon, glistening with the morning dew. The sun had not kissed this part of Earth just yet, but it was leaving the other side of the world quickly.
A part of the world she had yet to defend.
Ever since she had learned about this new Guardian stuff and all the secrets her so-called parents kept from her, life as an oblivious city girl seemed so perfect right now. Everyone was depending on her, all eyes were on her now.
Now Malory just had to come out of nowhere with a confession of love.
Madison spotted the large silvery wings that replaced the male’s arms since birth. They were so beautiful, slightly ruffled as Malory anxiously waited for her response. They reminded her of the first comet she had ever seen after leaving the city for the first time.
It brought back the memory of their first meeting.
What could she say? ‘Sorry, but I’m not interested.’? ‘There’s someone else.’? She felt no romantic love for the male before her, yet her mind was pleading for her to say something that wouldn’t hurt the both of them.
‘Think, Brain, THINK!’
The whole time they had known each other, Malory had been nothing but good to her. He had sacrificed so much for her, her safety, and her goal. To hurt him right here on this hill of daisies?
She’d be no better than the ones who nearly killed him.
“I love you too.” She lied.
It had slid past her lips do smoothly, so effortlessly, yet the pain behind it was unbearable.
She had lied to one of the only people supporting her in this war.
Malory smiled down at her, unknowing of the lie she had pierced his heart with. His gargantuan wings slowly held her in a hesitant, yet loving, embrace. Madison limply followed along, hearing his heartbeat as she stared at the two dark, identical scars beneath his chest.
This heart, beating so strongly for her... would soon be broken.
They stood there in each other’s hold, one happy beyond all knowledge, and one slowly dying in self-hate.
