An excerpt from jayvik fic "Am I Too Late?" on ao3
Jayce hurried through the halls while his mind raced. His meeting with Silco had gone well, or at least that’s what he initially thought while he was still high off the adrenaline of meeting someone so dangerous. But now he was doubting himself. He was sure he’d negotiated right, the way Mel had taught him, but firmer. Yet Silco was not from Piltover. He was not a counselor or a rich man with influence in their world. He was a dangerous drug lord from the Undercity- from Zaun. He’d been around longer than Jayce and used different methods. Had things gone well?
Jayce was still alive. He’d walked away with an agreement with Silco. He just needed to convince the Council. And pray Silco gave up Jinx. He’d initially thought it would be a no brainer for Silco. Just give up one of his lackeys for peace between them. But his reaction had made Jayce wonder what Jinx was to him. Or did Zaunites have a deeper sense of loyalty for each other. Always under the foot of Piltover, they wouldn’t trade each other because without each other what did they have left? What if Silco refused to give up Jinx? Could Jayce still convince the council to let go of their control over Zaun?
He needed to find Viktor. He would be able to provide insight to Jayce’s dilemma, but also because Viktor would want to attend the meeting. Viktor came to most council meetings regardless, but this one was about his home. Jayce knew it was the right thing to do. It was maddening that it had taken this long for anything to come this close. For anyone to bring this issue before the Council in so long. Zaun deserved their freedom, and it was long past due.

Lucien was limp and bleeding, likely unconscious. The guards Beron had sent to fetch his mother were taking their time, and Eris prayed that it was because they couldn’t find her. That Rhysand had gotten her out. Beron had let the remaining guards take their frustrations out on him and Lucien. Mostly Lucien. After Eris' display, they hadn't dared to touch him in any sexual manner, but Beron seemed happy to let them continue torturing them both.
Beron was growing more anxious and annoyed the longer the guards took to fetch Eleanor. Eris was growing weary. It certainly wasn't the longest he'd spent in a cell, but after using most of his strength to stop Ripper and injuring himself in the process, he had little else to use. He was mostly trying to stay conscious now. He wondered how long Beron would keep them here if Eleanor was no where to be found.
Beron paced, distracted and impatient. He’d stopped asking questions about who was poisoning him, content to let Lucien and Eris hurt for now. Perhaps he wanted to wait until Eleanor arrived. Maybe he wanted to question her instead. Her eldest son and her favorite son strung up and bleeding. One dying. Beron was counting on them to break her. Perhaps he would follow through on his promise to let the guards rape her and tell the world that his wife died.
If he did, Beron had to know that he would be dead as soon as Eris was released. He’d already pushed him with Lucien and seen the reaction. Eris didn’t have much strength left, but Beron didn’t know that. He clearly hadn’t known what Eris was capable of, though neither had Eris until he’d snapped. But as soon as Eris was released, the power would return and replenish his strength. It was all a waiting game now.
Beron stood and began yelling at one of the guards. He had lost all his patience. Eris ignored them and turned to Lucien. His chin was pressed against his now bare chest. "Lucien." He hissed. "Wake up."
Lucien didn't respond. His breathing had slowed. Blood was covering most of his front. The blood from losing his eye was dried and his hair was matted down with blood and sweat. "Please, Lucien, wake up."

An excerpt from chapter one of the Jayvik fanfic "Am I Too Late?" on ao3:
Jayce fell to the floor. He instantly knew he was in the wrong time. Perhaps the wrong timeline. He was in the broken building, except it was whole. The Counsel hadn’t been blown up yet. Which meant Viktor was alive. Seeing Mage Viktor grown old had been it’s own shock. It had been a meeting of warnings and pleas to save his own timeline. There was no time nor the reciprocated desire for a heartfelt reunion, no matter how much Jayce had wanted to hold him.
It had reenforced how Jayce felt about Viktor. He'd loved Viktor for a long time. But loving Mel had been easier. It'd been easier than complicating his friendship with Viktor. Loving her had been easier, and he had loved Mel. He'd loved her until they had grown to be too much and not enough for each other. He loved her still, loved her enough to let her go. But Jayce loved Viktor too much. Too much to let go. He loved him enough to fight.
Fic Summary:
After being dropped in the wrong timeline, Jayce takes what little time he has to try to save this world before he leaves to his own doomed timeline. Can the Jayce and Viktor he leaves behind avoid ruin that so many other timelines and worlds are facing? And can they process their own feelings for each other along the way?
