Coexistentiality 4 (A Journey Through Space and Time) by Norman Duenas

You have to accept that some peopleÂ
are not made for deep conversations,Â
or for holding you together when you’re about to fall apart,Â
or for keeping you from unzipping your skin,Â
or for talking you out of suicide,Â
or for loving you through the worst moments.Â
Some people are made for shallow exchanges, and ridiculous banter, and nothing more, and that’s okay.Â
That doesn’t make them horrible peopleÂ
simply because they aren’t able to handle a storm like you.Â
It doesn’t make you a bad person because you won’t divulge all the gritty details of your horror show.Â
It makes you smart.Â
It doesn’t mean they are not worth keeping in your life.Â
You just have to figure out who these ones are before you’re disappointed,Â
and you have to keep them at arm’s length.Â
You cannot expect everyone in your life to understand,Â
to be nonjudgmental,Â
to get it.Â
But that’s okay, because not everyone was made to impart wisdom,Â
or wax-poetic,Â
or speak on politicsÂ
and the depravity of society,Â
or discuss how crucial it is that the stigma of mental illness be abolished.Â
There are times when you have to get away from all that heaviness.Â
You have to.Â
You will need superficial conversation about Kim Kardashian’s arse,Â
or a debate on the color of The Dress to do that.Â
You will need those ones,Â
so don’t go round cutting people off and dropping your friends.Â
You need people for all your seasons.Â
You need people or you won’t survive this.
The trouble with life was that you didn’t get a chance to practice before doing it for real.

Drunk text me. Let me know that when you’re at your most vulnerable, I’m the one on your mind. Call me at three in the morning when you’ve had a nightmare. I’ll come running to hold you. Show up at my door, no flowers, no gifts, and when I ask you why, tell me that you just wanted to see me. Hold my hand. Kiss my nose. Dance with me in the middle of the street. Tell me how much I matter to you, and when I roll my eyes, tell me again. Write me a letter. Sing me a song. Cuddle with me. Please, I just want to know how you feel.
Excerpt from a book I’ll never write
For any planet, a year is the time it takes to make one orbit around the sun. Because Mars is farther away from the sun, it has to travel a greater distance than Earth. It takes Mars about twice as long as it does for Earth to make one circle around the sun…therefore, a year on Mars lasts twice as long.
On May 5, Mars passes solar longitude 0 as the sun crosses the equator on Mars. This is the vernal equinox and was chosen by planetary scientists as the start of a new year.
Mars has four seasons, roughly twice as long as those on Earth, but with more variation given Mars’ eccentric orbit and the fact its orbital speed varies more as a result.
Did you know that there’s a U.S. city named Mars? Mars, PA hosts an annual Mars New Year celebration and we’re participating in this two-day science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) event to inspire young people to pursue innovation and exploration.
