HANG IT IN THE LOUVRE
it’s like giving a sticker book to a toddler and letting them roam free
More Lando + Fabio

still annoyed (and bored) by the end of the race so i made these
some of threse are a bit crappy, there are a couple more in the reblogs, let me know if you want the empty version of one of these
round 2 baby
ok this will only be reblogged by one person but if you like f1 and tennis put in the tags your fav driver and ur fav player <3
It’s funny how every week, you pick up on something Lando says and twist his words just to make him the villain of your story.
› May 26th, 1993 in Munich, it is a little after 10:10 pm, Olympique de Marseille has just won the Champions League against the great AC Milan thanks to a goal by Basile Boli.
“It was a great moment. I was fortunate enough to win it later in my career too, but it didn’t have the same flavour,” said Didier Deschamps, who also won the Champions League in 1995-96 with Juventus. “It’s marvellous in Marseille when you win a trophy.” “It was a childhood dream to play in the European Cup,” added Basile Boli. “But to win it, that stays with you for life.”
Olympique de Marseille becomes the first French club to win a European football cup. From this victory, a non-verbal expression so dear to the people of Marseille would follow: “A jamais les premiers” (Forever the first)!
› May 26th, 2021 - 28 years have gone by and OM remains the only French club to have won the Champions League.
à jamais les premiers et les seuls - forza om! ⚪🔵
the thing about matilda is that it not only says that it's okay to let it go, but it also acknowledges that all the bad things happened to you even though you don't deserve it. and i love it, because it's so easy to say 'you're okay. you can let it go' but sometimes you also need to talk about it to be okay. 'you talk of the pain like it's all alright, but i know that you feel like a piece of you is dead inside'. because that's what we usually do, we immediately supress our feelings and put a brave face on because we need to carry on with our lives and it's such a weight on our shoulders, but we still try to weather it out. and we act like it's no big deal, like we're not surprised the bad stuff happened because we're so used to things not going our way that we're almost resigned to it. and then, after acknowledging all of this, after admitting how all the things that happened to you weren't right, then you can let it go. you can create a life of your own, where you're the one in control, where you get to choose where you want to go. it's like holding in a scream for the longest time ever and only ever softly sighing but reaching a point where you're just. screaming into the void. and it hits you that you're finally free of the dead weight. that you're gonna be alright. you can let it go.
While people are complaining about F1 “tiring” the drivers out by “forcing” them to stand on stage for an hour at 8 PM EST, throw hats and say their government names, please know that there are actually real issues surrounding the Miami Grand Prix that don’t have to do with the fake marina or the inconsequential beach area lol?
Here is a good thread on the racism embedded in the Miami GP. They originally wanted to hold it along Biscayne Bay but that was immediately axed by the rich (white) citizens as it would be held on public property. Instead, it was moved to Miami Gardens without the consent of the neighborhood as it is private property and one of the organizers of the GP also owns Hard Rock Stadium. As the thread says, most of the tourism money being made from the GP will not go to the black people whose community is being upended for the weekend but rather towards richer, whiter areas like South Beach, Brickell, Downtown, etc.

hello f1blr 👋
i'd like to ask for your help regarding my uni thesis. i'm sociology major and am writing a paper about gender inequality within motorsports with special interesting in f1 and other single seater categories.
while there are a few researches about the driver side (which mine also greatly focuses on) or the marketing and fan perspective of motorsport, i'd like to present a boarder picture by analysing these topics through the lenses of the feminist theory. however i can hardly find reliable and fresh information about the f1 broadcasting teams in each country, which is something i also want to talk about, and that's where your help comes in.
i made a short questionnaire to gather data and i'd be forever grateful if you guys could fill it out and reblog it. if you have any questions, feel free to message me.
thank you guys in advance and have a lovely, safe, exciting 2022 season! 🏁
signing a contract that says drivers/personnel passports will be confiscated at race refusal is so beyond sickening and can’t just be looked as an oversight from f1. and i’m pretty sure FOM probably didn’t share that information with the drivers/teams when they agreed the track contract. just another case of money meaning more to f1 bosses than the lives of the people who actually make their sport happen.
it is very important to notice how russia's invasion of ukraine is enough to get uralkali out of the sport but the ongoing saudi arabian intervention in yemen isn't enough to get aramco out of the sport. as always, the deaths of brown, muslim innocents don't matter and deaths caused by the us or its allies don't matter either.
in case you are unaware; 370,000 dead, doctors without borders hospitals bombed, war crimes galore (UN development programme)
i made a uquiz !!
why do people fall in love with you?
don’t look away.
i know a lot of people came to f1 late and maybe aren't quite sure about what makes lewis so great, like outside of the statistics. racing book recs are about bygone eras while the netflix show often places itself way outside of the historical context of the sport (there was a championship battle in 2018?) r/f1 used to have an editorial team in 2020 that used to do session summaries and deep dives – one of the members also compiled an ebook recapping of all of Lewis' 92 wins when he broke that record. it makes for very compelling reading! it's free to download.
Did I just buy a whole ass magazine just so I could read about those three? Yes, absolutely I did. And I have absolutely no regret.
just a reminder in case anyone needs to hear it: you do not need to understand every single technical aspect about f1 regardless of gender it doesn’t make you any less of a fan. if you don’t watch every single practice session or qualifying or race you are still a fan of f1. if you watch it because you think the cars look pretty or you love the gay subtext or you think some driver has great hair or whatever it is you watch f1 for you are not any less of a fan. not everything has to be so deep all of the time.
I watched the Schumacher documentary on Netflix yesterday. It was so beautiful, I couldn't stop crying...
This is important and I need to know. Who is your siblings favourite driver? (FE/F1, any series really)
why does it look like Carlos dressed him?
@McLarenF1: Ready for you, @HollyWills and @Schofe! Time for @ThisMorning.
