I Miss Tumblr

I miss how it used to be. 

I miss how this fandom used to be. How we used to ACTUALLY be the SPNFAMILY. it’s not just a hashtag or a thing you scribble on your backpack. It was a real, live, tangible thing. A thing that meant you are NOT alone when you need someone. It meant that you could put out a call for help and there would be someone there to help you. It meant that no matter what you were going through, people cared. There was a family, a band of weirdos, a gaggle of fans ready to wrap the care blanket around you. I don’t think we have that anymore. 

Everyone’s obsessed with becoming popular or ranting about notes or this and the other thing. People seem to care more about being right and causing drama than just being a human being. Hate is so rampant now that I cringe when I get an ask notification. When someone I don’t know messages me, I think, “oh no, what did I do wrong? I’m about to get yelled at.” 

This fandom was built around a show that at the base is about Family. 

It’s about Love.

It’s about not letting the world beat you down. About lifting someone else up and getting through the darkest parts of it. Together. 

We’re not together anymore. 

I don’t know what happened but to me, the SPNFAMILY is gone, and it saddens me greatly. 

Family don’t end in blood, but apparently it ends in tumblr drama.
