No, but in the featured image, gaps in light emanating from the Jose Ignacio Lighthouse in Uruguay appear to match up nicely, although only momentarily and coincidently, with dark dust lanes of our Milky Way Galaxy. The central band of the Milky Way Galaxy is actually the central spiral disk seen from within the disk. The Milky Way band is not easily visible through city lights but can be quite spectacular to see in dark skies. The destination on that sweltering day I saw the Jetfoil was Jizôzaki and Mihonoseki lighthouse. It's just a 2 km walk from the village, but gosh it was difficult that day! Still, the views of the coastline were, as always, well worth the effort.
The lighthouse itself is a nice little building, built at the end of the 19th century, and nicely kept (if you can spot the ladies raking in front of the entrance in the picture). It's circled by a short walking trail.
The tower doesn't need to be too high as it stands on a cliff, while the former residence now houses a shop and a tea room with a view out to sea.
Like Shionomisaki I covered some time ago, Mihonoseki lighthouse has a "Guardian of Light" character designed for it! This one looks somewhat more confident than the pensive guardian of the South!
As any jagged coastline should, Shionomisaki has a lighthouse. Many were built across Japan during the modernisation of the Meiji era, and Kushimoto town has two.
After passing through the shrine in this picture, a trail continues to the left to a cape out of frame. People from the nearby port of Koza would go out there to watch for the arrival of pods of whales when their migration was due, and return home to basically say that hunting season had begun.
As such, Shionomisaki has always had a bit of a lookout role. And, according to the Akari no Moribito story, this guy below will be looking out for us against the forces of darkness in the future! The project has aimed to give all of Japan's main lighthouses a character, complete with a voice actor! I don't understand much, but on the surface, I think it's neat.

Szelesszirt nem véletlenül kapta ezt a nevet, mikor ideépítették a világítótornyot. Azelőtt sehogyan sem hívták ezt a magányos kis szigetet az óceán közepén, ami területre alig nagyobb, mint egy közepes halászhajó. Miután azonban elkészültek a toronnyal, és elhívták az Admirálist, hogy ünnepélyesen avassa fel az épületet, valahogyan csak el kellett nevezni. És mivel az építkezés ötszáztizenkét napja során egyetlen nap sem volt itt, amikor ne fújt volna a szél, az építésvezető végül az utolsó pillanatban ezt a szót súgta az Admirális fülébe.
A hely, ahová a névadó ünnepségen a falhoz vágott zöld pezsgősüveg becsapódott, még ma is tisztán látható, mert azt a részt csak az avatás előtt fél órával sikerült befejezni, és az apró szilánkok beleragadtak a friss vakolatba. Amikor rásüt a nap, a falnak az a része még a legnagyobb nyárban is úgy csillog, mint az ablak, ha télen ráfagy a lehelet.
Mi már több mint három éve élünk Apával a világítótoronyban, és az azóta eltelt ezeregyszáztizenkét napból összesen hatszor volt eddig szélcsend. Ez a mai a hetedik szélcsendes nap: a születésnapom.

Semi-continuation of my Day 5 piece; this time, Sunny's mom returns home to find that the exterior of her old home has changed significantly. And that's just the beginning of the story...
(Most of my time with this piece was spent on the Brighthouse, as you might expect. I might continue this story if another prompt provides for it.)
