Summary: You and your best friend are studying psychology abroad at a university in Japan. You cross paths with Kunigami, who saves you from getting hit by a soccer ball. He uses that as an excuse to ask you to hangout which you accept. He has such a gentle and kind demeanor unlike most jocks that you’ve met. But is that just a front?

It was your second spring in Japan. Last year, you made the decision to study abroad and attend a university in Japan. The school happily accepted you considering that you had stellar grades and an extensive background in music. You had just finished practicing piano for the day. The sun was just beginning to set. You took your usual route home, passing the soccer field on the way. The players were out practicing as per usual.
“CHIGIRI, PASU (pass)!” A deep voice yells.
You keep walking, wanting to watch them play but too nervous they might say something to you. You stare down at your phone, texting your best friend.
“KIWOTSUKERO (Watch out)!” That same deep voice yells.
You look up and see a soccer ball coming straight at you. You froze and didn’t know what to do. Thankfully, one of the players ran in front of you in time and blocked you from getting hit.
“Anata wa kanojo ni hobo butsukatta (you almost hit her).” He says as he kicks the ball back to the magenta haired player.
His kick was so….powerful.
“Thank you for saving me…gomen’nasai… Watashi o sukutte kurete arigatō. Daijōbu desu ka? (sorry… Thank you for saving me. Are you okay?).” You say getting his attention.
He turns around and faces you. He was really cute. His ginger hair was sticking to his forehead due to him sweating. He towered over you even though you weren’t a short girl. He had to be around 6’2. He smiles at your comment and says, “Hurt from a weak kick like that? Nah, it’ll take a lot more than that. Are you okay?”
Oh, you love his confidence! And he’s bilingual like you! He knows you’re not from here just by looking at you. You nod your head yes and say, “Right!”
He notices you holding a binder with music notes all over it and points at it in your hands. “I always see you carrying that binder. What instrument do you play?”
‘Always see me? Has he noticed me before?’ You think.
“Piano and I sing.” You answer confidently.
“You must be good. You answered so confidently. I’d love to hear you.” He states.
“As a thank you for saving me, I’ll play you for you anytime.” You tease.
“How about tomorrow? I’m free from practice.” He asks.
“Sure, you can meet me in front of the music building at 4pm.” You say as you hug on your binder.
“I’ll be there. I’m Kunigami, by the way. Kunigami Rensuke. What’s your name?” He asks, playing it cool.
“L/N, F/N. Nice to meet you.” You say.
“Nice to meet you too. I’d ask to exchange contact information but I don’t have my phone on me so I'll get it from you tomorrow, kay?” He says looking down at you.
“I look forward to it.” You say.
“Me too, see you then.” As he runs back on the field, you take notice of his jersey number, 9.
You continue your walk, trying to hide your smile as you walk past him and the rest of his team mates. Once the coast is clear, you call your best friend. You met her through a chatroom, during your freshman year of highschool. Her username was kittybabez and yours was memeow. You two bonded over manga, food, and your love for cats. Because of the usernames, you call her Kat and she calls you Mimi. Since you lived across the world from Kat, you had never met her person until you two got accepted to study abroad in Japan. Your relationship grew stronger once you moved in together. Kat was a couple inches shorter than you and wore her hair in braids most of the time. You both were psychology majors, however you specialized in music therapy.
“Hey love, are you on the way home?” Kat says as she answers the phone.
“Yes, I am. You will not believe what just happened to me, Oh my God!” You say out of sheer excitement.
“I’m listening…”
“A soccer player just saved me from a ball hitting me!! He asked me if I was okay and I was like ‘yea’, and I asked if he was okay…which was stupid because… duh he plays soccer… I’m sure he gets hit all the time…. anyway, he was like ‘a weak kick like that!? Nahhh, it’ll take a lot more to hurt me.’ I DIDN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW HE KICKED THE BALL BACK!! HE'S SO STRONG!!! Okay, okay…the moral of the story is that he wants to watch me play piano tomorrow after classes AND he said he wants my contact info tomorrow.” You ramble.
“GIIIIRRRLLLL, what’s the number on his jersey? I’m looking him up on the uni website. I have to see what he looks like.” She says, laptop ready to go.
“Number 9. His name is Kunigami.” You say.
You hear her typing on the other end of the phone until she goes, “Mimi, he’s your type. DON’T suck his dick in the practice room.” She jokes.
“Remind me to never tell you anything ever again.” You say with a straight face.
Kat bursts out laughing and says, “Hurry up and come home so we can have dinner!!!”
“I’m almost there! Be there in 5!” You say as you hang up the phone.
You spend the rest of your walk thinking about how tomorrow will go. You never thought you’d be into the jock type but Kunigami was different. Obviously, you don’t know this man but he had a gentle demeanor about him. You couldn’t wait to talk to him again and learn more about him. Once you get home, you take off your shoes at the door and say, “I’m home.”
“About time. We have to address the elephant in the room. What are you wearing when you see Kunigami?” She says coming out of her room.
“Do you think I should go preppy or casual? I want to be authentic and not get all dressed up for the first hang out.” You say setting your bag down on the couch.
“Then wear what you usually wear. I think you should show your legs though. If he plays football, he’s probably got a thing for nice legs and you got ‘em.” She says.
You gasp and let out a, “Oh my god!”
“WHAT!” She jumps.
“I called it soccer, not football.” You whine. You didn’t realize that you said neither to him actually.
Your friend rolls her eyes and laughs.
“I’m sure he clocked that you’re American just by talking to you. Don’t sweat it! Let’s go pick out this outfit.” Your friend says as she drags you to your room.

“Behave yourself, Mimi. You hear me?” Kat says as she fixes the silver clips in your locs.
You ultimately decided to wear a white sweater that hugs your figure and falls slightly off your shoulder. You paired that with a pleated grey miniskirt skirt and Doc Martin boots.
You roll your eyes as you groan the words, “I hear you...”
“Your ass is not listening.” She laughs as she finishes primping you. “He should be here soon. Nervous?”
“Kinda, but I'm more excited. It’s the same feeling I get before a performance.” You admit.
In the distance, you see Kunigami and a magenta haired guy with him. You tap Kat’s shoulder and nod in their direction. She raises her eyebrows and whispers, “Did he bring a team mate?”
“Looks like it.” You whisper back.
Once they get close enough, you turn in their direction and wave.
“Y/N.” Kunigami says as he walks up to us.
“Hey, hero! Glad you could make it. This is my friend, [name], but I call her Kat.” She waves and makes eye contact with Kunigami’s friend.
You and Kunigami both notice they’ve locked eyes.
“Nice to meet you. This is Hyoma Chigiri, one of my teammates.” Kunigami says.
“You can call me Chigiri.” He states.
“I brought him here to apologize to you. He’s the one who kicked the ball that almost hit you.” Kunigami says while giving death eyes to him.
“Keyword, ALMOST.” Chigiri says.
Kat giggles a bit, not expecting thin to be so sassy. He folds his arms and tosses his hair out of his face.
“Princess…” Kunigami threatens.
“My baaaddd.” He sings a half ass apology.
“All good, Chigiri.” You respond.
“Wellll, I’m gonna get going! I have some studying to do. Nice meeting you both.” Kat says while looking up at Chigiri.
He looks at her and says, “Are you going to the library because I was headed there.”
“Yea, you wanna join me?” Kat says with a smile on her face.
“Sure.” He answers softly.
And just like that, we set our friends up. Once we went our separate ways, you took Kunigami into the music building. Musicians were looking him up and down, confused why a jock was in here. Kunigami didn’t care one bit, he was too focused on you.
“Have you ever been inside the music building?” You ask.
“No, I haven’t.” He responds
“It’s really nice, I’ll have to give a tour sometime. When there’s less people. I’d hate to interrupt someone’s rehearsal.” You say as you hold your student ID up to the door to unlock it.
You walk into the practice room with Kunigami. It’s a tight space. Just enough room for an upright piano, piano bench, and a music stand.
“Damn, this room doesn’t have an extra chair but the piano bench is long. You’ll have to sit next to me while I play.” You say as you set your tote bag down.
“I wanna watch you first. Go on, serenade me.” He says leaning against the upright piano.
“What emotion do you want to feel?” You ask as you massage your hands.
“What?” He’s confused.
“What emotion do you want to feel?” You ask again.
Kunigami thinks for a moment as says, “A rush..of some sort?”
You nod your head and gently place your hands on the keys. At that moment, Kunigami started to feel something intense from you. Your energy completely changed.
“This is Libertango by Astor Piazolla.” You say.
You started off loud, playing arpeggios down the entire piano. This intrigued Kunigami, triggering goosebumps on his arm. The left hand held the rhythm while the right hand played chords, building up intensity. You looked up at him for a moment, and smiled. Fast staccato notes come from your right hand. Kunigami's eyes grew wide as he realized just how fast your hands were moving. This speed reminded him of Chigiri. Kunigami swore there wasn’t a key you didn’t touch. You stop… and come back with both hands playing on the higher end of the piano. Kunigami had never seen anyone play this impressively. You were making him feel emotions only a match would make him feel. Eventually, both hands travel down to the bass clef, playing deeper notes. He felt you struck the keys with the same amount of force one of his kicks took. You stop again, teasing Kunigami. You smile at him and start playing the same melody, but faster. He raised his brows out of shock. You had successfully convinced this man that you and him are cut from the same cloth. You ended the piece with a glissando and a crash of a chord.
“How was that?” you ask.
Kunigami started clapping and nodding his head. You stand up and curtsey, holding the hem of your pleated mini skirt in your fingers.
“Beautiful and talented. I haven’t heard anything like that before. I mean, I listen to music but that made me feel so…much.” He said.
You cover your face to hide the fact that he made you blush. He was so gentle when he spoke to you, it made you feel butterflies in your stomach.
“Thank you. Now I have to come to one of your games so I can see your genius.” You say sitting back down in front of the piano.
Kunigami wastes no time and says, “It’s two weeks from today.” He slides his phone out his back pocket and sits down next to you on the piano bench. “Let me send you the details. Get your phone.”
You lean over, grabbing your phone out of your tote bag. You two trade contact information and he texts you the details for the game.
“You put a music note next to your name, how cute.” He says as he stares at his phone. He slides his phone in his back pocket and looks at you.
You two start talking to each other while you softly play scales to warm up. You find out he’s in school for sports management and that he has two sisters. That explains his soft side. He claims he knows ‘how the feminine mind works’ because of them. That statement alone made you belly laugh. He retracted his statement once he realized he’s talking to a psychology major.
“Okay, maybe I don’t know how EVERY feminine mind works.” He chuckles.
“You should have been a psychology major, Kunigami. You’re the next Sigmund Freud, thanks to your sisters.” You tease him.
“What can I say, I’m a versatile guy.” He says with a laugh.
You shake your head and continue playing your scales. Kunigami starts watching your hands, impressed with how agile you are even during warmups.
“You wanna learn how to play?” You ask.
He looked startled by your question. He rubs the back of his neck as he says, “I’ll try for you. Just to see what your world is like.”
You blush again, playing with the hem of your skirt. “It’s not too difficult, I swear. Hold up your hand.”
He does as you say while facing towards you.
“In piano, your fingers have numbers.” You take your pointer finger and trace the palm side of his thumb. “Thumb is always one.” His hands are huge…. You trace his pointer finger. “Number 2.” Rough but soft to the touch…. You trace his middle finger. “Number 3.” I wonder what his touch feels like…. You trace his ring finger. “Number 4.” His fingers would feel really nice inside… You trace his pinky. “And number 5.”
You thought you were safe from these intrusive thoughts. A piano lesson shouldn’t be sexual but here you are doing exactly that. You couldn’t help yourself. You’ve never attracted a jock let alone been attracted to one.
“A-and the other hand?” He says sheepishly.
“It's the same thing.” You say, turning towards the piano.
You press your legs together tightly, hoping that would alleviate the throbbing between them. You weren’t the only one turned on right now. The truth is, Kunigami was turned on the minute you started playing for him. He was struggling just as much as you were.
“Pretend like you're holding a baseball.” You say as you demonstrate. He copies you. “Now turn your hand upside down and place your finger tips on white keys.” He places his left hand randomly on the piano and you clap for him.
“This feels insane. What do I do now?” He says looking at you.
“Try playing 1,2,3,4,5.” You say.
He played all of his notes fortissimo, way too much force. He was in fact very heavy handed, which caused you to jump from the sudden burst of sound. He notices and stops.
“Too loud?” he says with a nervous smile.
“Alittle, be light on your fingertips. Kinda like how when you dribble a soccer ball, you’re agile, right?” You place your hand on top of his and press down to show him how much pressure.
Kunigami started to blush. You were touching him and talking about soccer, he was in heaven. He was trying to be respectable but the way you touched him like he was delicate, paired with the sweet scent that lingers around you… just being this close was all one big tease for Kunigami. It takes alot for him to lose his chill normally, but you were testing that theory.
“Yea, you have to be… Can I ask you a question?” He blurts out.
“Of course.” You say turning towards him.
“What did you call me when you first saw me today?” His voice dropped into a low hum.
“Hero.” The word slides off your tongue, practically music to Kunigami’s ears. “Because you saved me from the ball,” You felt yourself leaning towards him. “Which I never got to properly thank you for.” You plant your lips gently on his cheek, causing the both of you to blush.
You pulled your head back, your faces still inches apart. You can already hear Kat’s voice in your head, telling you to behave. You’re really trying to…but he’s so cute. The way he’s a blushing mess just because you're close to him. How can such a big guy be so adorable?
“You're welcome.” He says as his eyes dart to your lips.
Your lips were slowly gravitating towards each other until your phone alarm went off, ruining the moment completely. You silence the alarm. You had forgotten that you set it to remind you when you have 30 minutes left in the practice space.
“Time’s almost up?” He asks.
“Yeah, unfortunately.” You reply.
“I should let you practice. I’ve been quite the distraction.” He chuckles as he gets up.
“You could say that but I had fun…” you trail off.
You wanted to invite him out tonight. You and Kat were planning on going to an underground boiler room set. If she and Chigiri hung out at the library, you know she invited him.
“Kon’ya wa aitemasu ka? (Are you available tonight?)” you ask him.
He smiles as you speak in his language .
“Hai…” he responds.
“Dewa, kon’ya oai shimasho? (So I’ll see you tonight?)”
He scoffs and smirks at your comment. You want to see just how bad he wants to see you.
“I want to see you again so no need to be obscure about plans. Text me the details and I’ll be there. Now practice.” He says as he throws his backpack on his shoulder.
“Yes, sir!” You say saluting him.
He laughs and leaves the room. You’re smiling ear to ear, knowing that he likes you just as much as you like him.

Wild card thoughts
So, I don't know if Kunigami was the only person in the wild card room or not, but if he was then that means he was basically in solitary confinement for about a month and a week. Spoilers, Kunigami went to the wild card room in chapter 94, when the 3 week tryouts for the blue lock eleven started. After the U-20 match there is a 2 week break. After that the Neo egoist league arc and then he is back in chapter 155. So in total that is 5 weeks in the wild card room if I did it right. And a month has 4 weeks. So Kunigami spent a little over a month in in solitary confinement, went through very VERY harsh training(Wild card tried to make a copy of Noel Noa), and if he did talk to anyone, it was probably a weird guy (Ego)through a screen. To add to that Shido said some rather impactful words that already messed with Kunigamis mental state. So yep that is all, and solitary confinement has not good effects, especially if it is for over a MONTH straight. Ok, goodbye! (Wait, is this not illegal? Could Ego get arrested? who knows) ( I checked its illegal, Egos going to jail)

Wondering what Rensuke Kunigami’s relationship with his sisters and family look like right now post wild card. Blue lock manga spoilers btw

We see a jarring change in Kunigami’s mindset and personality once he comes back from the wild card to enter the final selection, or the Neo Egoist League.
Kunigami went from a compassionate, responsible, and respectful guy that held sportsmanship and the act of doing the right thing close to heart to someone who has cussed out/looked down upon most everyone, doesn’t make an effort to maintain relationships within blue lock and actively tries to sever them.
Kunigami hasn’t been shown to smile since his return. He has ghastly dark eye bags that plague his face with a sad, sullen expression. His hair has grown out from his neat undercut to a wild, thick tuft of orange hair.
I wonder what happened when he went home during the 2 week break given to blue lock after the U-20 match.
Did his parents try to talk to him and get him to open up about what he experienced and why he looks like such a changed man; especially in the wild card experiment that they didn’t know about? I doubt he would tell them, at least not in detail. Maybe just a little bit of, “I became ambidextrous in order to move on in Blue Lock. I’m fine, I just needed to make myself better.” To try and ease their worries without actually addressing the root issue.
Does he still treat his sisters the same? Do they still have the privilege of the Kunigami that always smiled and gave them a secure bear hug, the Kunigami that listened intently on their words when they tell him about their day, the Kunigami that always blushed and looked away when their small squabbles turned into ruthless one way teasing? Or do they get the Kunigami that stares at them with too many emotions swirling in his eyes and not enough passion in his face that they can’t read what he’s thinking, the Kunigami that barely acknowledges their presence when they pass, the Kunigami that snaps at them when they get too close or talk too much about Blue Lock?
His family doesn’t understand it. Where did their sweet Rensuke go? Who is this machine that is living in his skin? They want Rensuke back, the real Rensuke. The one they have faith is still there, even though he doesn’t seem to be.
Kunigami hates this the most though. He doesn’t want to push away his family, his dear little sister that would always cling to his bicep and gush about how he would always be her hero. This isn’t what a hero is supposed to do. Heroes act better than this. Heroes wouldn’t have lost to someone who opposes their ideals in the first place. He isn’t a real hero. He is a broken hero, the hero that everyone rooted for but still couldn’t defeat the villain when it really mattered.
But how is he supposed to fix this? He’s the one that ruined it. How is Kunigami supposed to tear down the walls he was forced to build and separate football from family like this? With all the emotions and thoughts he has suppressed, you would think he knows how. He doesn’t know how, and Kunigami’s scared to find out.

Kinda tempted to write a KuniGiri fic and maybe try my hand at the 5 + 1 style with them? I've been an avid fic writer since 2018 (got my start in 2014) and I know I could do a bllk fic justice and what better way to break into the fanfic community than with something for my fave pairing??
I'd probably keep it as Kunigami centric POV (but I only write 3rd person) and explore like a "5 times Kunigami can't bring himself to look at Chigiri and 1 time he can't tear his eyes away" based on the whole "keep your eyes on me" from the post BM/MC game conversation.
Doing some analysis with post-WC Kunigami would be really fun also, like going into the apathy and self loathing that is always so fun to write. Idk if there's interest but I will write this (at some point) for myself if no one else.

Blue Lock Baseball AU
Hello everyone I am a baseball/softball enjoyer and would like to share my thoughts about what positions I think the Blue Lock boys would play! This will be multipart as ideas will come to me sporadically, with analysis under the cut.
Characters included in this part are: Egoist 4, Raichi, Barou, Aryu, & Aiku
Isagi Yoichi:
Left fielder. Now you might be saying "lyss why are you putting the protagonist in the outfield??" and to that I say 1) this is baseball not soccer 2) if you don't think this position is important you don't know the sport. If a ball is headed for the outfield it's most likely headed somewhere between LF/CF and those players will need good communication in order to coordinate who's going for what. Despite Isagi being a beast on the field to his rivals, we know he can do teamwork exceptionally well. Left field also requires great knowledge of the game, and his meta-vision being able to predict what the runners will do will be able to help him by making the perfect throws to the infield for a given situation. He's got a great view of the entire field and although he probably won't be making any outs aside from outfield catches (which he can make a lot of!!!) he is indispensable when it comes to holding off the runners from advancing.
Bachira Meguru:
I want to put him at second base. The middle infield has him bouncing around a lot, as he'll have to cover both second and first base depending on which way the ball is hit, and I am solid in my belief that Bachira can handle that. As a technical player, I really like putting him in this position as I imagine him getting a lot of contact with the ball and being a playmaker for the team. Tagging runners, getting a cut from the outfield, and just generally getting a read of the field by being in the middle of it has me solid that he'll be able to make great plays from this position. I imagine that Bachira's monster/instinct has him making a lot of double plays. He'll be able to get someone out at second and then make a great, yet unexpected throw to first or home for another out.
Chigiri Hyoma:
He's so centerfielder to me. With how well he's performing in Manshine right now it makes sense to me to give him a sort of "leadership role" in the outfield. He'd definitely be the player in the outfield who has to move around the most and I think his speed would be best utilized here. Whether its for making amazing running/diving catches or running in to pick up a ground ball that manages to slip past second and short, I think putting Chigiri in centerfield gives him the opportunity to use a lot of his potential. Of course pinch runner Chigiri would be fun to see as well, maybe he's not in the batting lineup but when the pitcher or catcher gets on base he subs in for them to run the bases. Honestly thinking about CF Chigiri was what got me wanting to write this whole thing, he means so so much to me.
Kunigami Rensuke:
Third baseman. Yes I'm foaming at the mouth about this thought. Sue me. Not only does Kunigami's strength make him a great person to put here because of his ability to make great throws to both first and home, I think it's best to have your more physically dominant players toward the last bases. As the opponent progresses along the bases, it becomes more and more vital to get them out before they can make it home (duh). I think Kunigami, especially post-wildcard would be really aggressive on the base (occasionally to his detriment), enjoying tagging out players rather than going with an easier route of just stepping on the bag. He's probably also a clean-up hitter or at least close to the top of the lineup. I want to imagine he's also a lefty batter, maybe he's a slap hitter and it annoys everyone else. But yeah I really want to see him dominating third base and the whole foul line honestly.
Raichi Jingo:
He would be such a great shortstop okay just listen to me. The nature of middle infield is running around a lot (covering third, covering second, backing up second) and although it's not a lot of distance to cover, you're alternating between these positions a lot and Raichi definitely has the stamina to keep up with the demands of middle infield. We've seen it. I also think his tenacity is great for making him an awesome shortstop. He'll fully throw himself in front of a line drive to catch it (this works most of the time), ignoring the sting in his hand. I also imagine if a runner is about to steal third and Raichi is in possession of the ball, he'll charge at the runner to fully scare them back into staying at second before getting the ball back to the pitcher.
Barou Shouei:
The most egotistical pitcher you will ever meet dear god. His whole king shtick with the whole field revolving around his playstyle??? You literally can not put him in any other position. He's a menace on the field, trash talk both to his team and his opponent, but his money is where his mouth is. His great physicality would lend itself to fast, accurate pitches, but I imagine pre-development his short temper would lead to a lot of outbursts that affect his accuracy. He will get angry every time he doesn't pitch a no-hitter. Every time he's reminded that he has a whole team behind him to back him up if the batters hit, he'll bark that it's just him versus the batters and he will strike them out. Barou is the guy you don't wanna hit against, because he's good and he's annoying about it.
Aryu Jyubei:
This is a first baseman. Hear me out. First base gets quite a bit of action so Aryu's got the opportunity to be flashy and get a lot of notice, but that's like 10% of why I'm putting him here. Functionally, we see him dominate in air battles and with his long limbs it makes the most sense to put him on such a pivotal base. He's gonna get thrown to a lot, and it's undeniable that some shitty throws will be sent his way. His height/limbs will allow him to still catch virtually any ball sent his way even if it's far from the bag/overthrown while still keeping a foot on the bag to hopefully get an out. He's got the bag on lockdown but also a good few-foot radius around it.
Aiku Oliver:
Alright everybody act surprised when I say catcher. I know it's the obvious choice but that's because it makes so much sense. Obviously whenever your team isn't at bat you're on defense, but catcher is definitely the most defensive position one can think of, and that's where Aiku excels. I think his strength will be an asset behind the plate, as it'll be easy for him to throw to any base necessary, and he could also be a pretty formidable player to run toward for any opponent trying to steal home. I think his leadership that shines as captain of the U-20 team would also allow him to sync nicely with whatever pitcher he's teamed up with, and I also think his game sense will allow him to make quick decisions on where to throw the ball if he doesn't try to throw out someone stealing and just send the ball back to the pitcher.

like. like come on. "i could accomplish all these massive physical feats yet i would also collapse in front of you if you were just here. and all of it was for you." because it was. kunigami going through wildcard not only for his own ego and his goals but to see his friends and loved ones again.
"got a taste of the bitter in me" also known as the understatement of the century. kunigami is barely a person anymore, let alone his own person, he's a shell meant to house the glory of noel noa and nothing more. and of course he is keeping this lone wolf mentality going, he has no other choice. after the hell he went through, maybe it's better to just accept the philosophy that was forced on him. at least it'll make him feel human again. sort of.
and god chigiri is haunting him. it's the way they can't develop entirely separate from each other. it's the way that when we see hints of kunigami's old personality it's either because chigiri is directly there or inspiring the conversation/moment in some way. it's the way that chigiri thinks of kunigami to motivate him. kunigami is trying so damn hard to keep this wildcard persona up but the ghost that is chigiri's presence and his own past are making it such a difficult task.

kunigiri has had my heart since like the first few episodes of bllk and i still have faith in them especially after chigiri went to search out kunigami after the bm/mc match like. their story isn't over.
and although yeah this might be kind of unrealistic unless we get both of them playing on the u-20 team at the same time i still want to have hope or at least write a fanfic. because. just.
so we obviously know chigiri's nickname since the beginning has been "princess" and kunigami's goal for himself was always to be a hero which he has since given up/been forced to give up since entering the wildcard, and yes he gets referred to as "cyborg hero" & "cynic hero" etc. but never "hero" on its own anymore.
and because the chekov's gun that is chigiri's acl tear scares the shit out of me, what if chigiri has an outright reinjury or at least the heartstopping scare of one (if chigiri gets hurt for good i won't be able to handle myself) and it's this damsel in distress moment that prompts kunigami to return to his hero identity (because it's still there inside him, he's just buried it out of necessity).
i need this to happen. please. please let kunigami want to be a hero again and please have it be because he wants to protect chigiri please give this to me.
