a relative of the grasshopper family, the neobarrettia spinosa or greater arid land katydid is shown here with small but distinctive uncanny bloodshot red eyes in all of the photos spaced on each side of proutding antenna

also notable in all of the photos is their stance, their upper front legs are positioned as raised to varying degrees as caught off guard, defensive, or otherwise appearing alert

six legs that they present forward have smaller tar black spines that range from shorter and more closely slot together spotted upon the femur, to the lengthier, more spaced out, rose thorn like spines protuding from the tibia

they are majorly green, ranging from a fern or lime green to minted highlights, no show of darker accompaniments except for the oily black underwing bursting from crocodile skin textured, loosely visible spread tegmen, though the underwings are not solely black and are littered with dalmation like splotches of chlorine or sky blue turquoise

any other color not green comes from their long orange antenna, and then their mouths as they appear similar to orchid blooms in appearance as lighter coffee brown mandibles jut from a large plates of a cream yellow colored labrum, fading from yellowish to the same green of the rest of the body along the clypeus
