Starting a quotebook for my teachers:
first entry is by my English teacher: You guys smell like cabbage and shame!
My friend keeps sending this pic to our microsoft teams gc in the middle of class and one time we were in a gc with a damn teacher and she sent it and the teached got the notification and she said it was an intesting definition in the fuckin middle of fuckin class
I remember in 7th he grade, I’d always ALWAYS fall asleep in my second period. It really annoyed me, but I just could not stay awake. My teacher was always nice about it and even when she woke me up, it was always very kindly. Outside of the bubble of that specific teacher, sleeping in class has always been kinda like it’s described above. But the one teacher actually understood that it was something I needed, and I still think about her sometimes :) it’s not hard to be kind, but it can leave every lasting impression.
I decided to write a bit about learning disabilities and my opinions on how they are handled in schools. I handwrote it as a demonstration of how my dysgraphia still affects my writing, but I also typed up a translation for anyone who might have trouble reading that.
My engineering teacher just called me out in class for having a super neat signature and I've never felt so genuinely amazing about a compliment I think.
It’s kind of bananas to me that All Might can teach at an elite and high profile school like Yuuei with like no real teaching qualifications? Like, sure he’s All Might, the Hero to end all heroes or whatever, but it’s literally canon that he knows absolutely nothing about how to teach and everyone just lets him?! Most times they don’t even have one of the actual teachers assisting him, the school just gives him free rein to literally throw kids at other kids and the worst he gets is a stern lecture from Recovery Girl. Like, how has no one tried to sue the school at this point, really?
And it’s not even like we can say the other teachers are the same because they’re heroes. Present Mic teaches English, Ectoplasm teaches Mathematics, Cementoss teaches Modern Literature – all of which are core classes and therefore need to be taught by qualified teachers. They probs had to double major or something in college to be Pro Heroes and Teachers and All Might just… walks into Yuuei one day and becomes a teacher?! Do know how salty I’d be if I was staff?
Like Mic over here is just thinking to himself “lol that’s so cool All MIght’s a teacher now, and I had to read War and Peace in like two weeks and write an essay on morality based on the symbolism and other reaching themes of the book, while my roommate chugged Redbull and burped fireballs into our wastebasket, but go off All Might! you totally got this~!”
(No wonder Aizawa always looks so done with All Might’s bullshit.)

On #WorldTeachersDay, we are recognizing our two current astronauts who are former classroom teachers, Joe Acaba and Ricky Arnold, as well as honoring teachers everywhere. What better way to celebrate than by learning from teachers who are literally out-of-this-world!
During the past Year of Education on Station, astronauts connected with more than 175,000 students and 40,000 teachers during live Q & A sessions.
Let’s take a look at some of the questions those students asked:
Taking a look at our home planet from the International Space Station is one of the most fascinating things to see! The views and vistas are unforgettable, and you want to take everyone you know to the Cupola (window) to experience this. Want to see what the view is like? Check out earthkam to learn more.
There are several experiments that take place on a continuous basis aboard the orbiting laboratory - anything from combustion to life sciences to horticulture. Several organizations around the world have had the opportunity to test their experiments 250 miles off the surface of the Earth.
If you are a good listener and follower, you can be successful on the space station. As you work with your team, you can rely on each other’s strengths to achieve a common goal. Each astronaut needs to have expeditionary skills to be successful. Check out some of those skills here.
Nothing excites Serena Auñón-Chancellor more than seeing a living, green plant on the International Space Station. She can’t wait to use some of the lettuce harvest to top her next burger! Learn more about the plants that Serena sees on station here.
While aboard the International Space Station, taste buds may not react the same way as they do on earth but the astronauts have access to a variety of snacks and meals. They have also grown 12 variants of lettuce that they have had the opportunity to taste.

Thanks to you for being co-traveler in the journey of life.
Thanks for blessing me with best gift so far
Thanks for accepting me as I am in this whole cosmos of life.
Thanks to all those who came in my life even for a fraction of second. All of you have endowed me with lessons of life for life.
Note: I could not find an individual who taught me the lesson of life. Since my inception there are so many people, at different stages of life have played their role amazingly and thus I am here in this cosmos of life. I am very grateful to all of them with depth of my heart. And it is not only my case, I think everyone has almost the same story. There is huge responsibility on our shoulders to pay back for all of those and the ultimate way to do this is always bring positive change in the life of others who came across you.
So, who puts in the effort to try and ban or challenge a book? I would think, and could agree to a certain extent, that parents are those who attempted to restrict their children’s access to books (thou I don’t know why they just don’t do it as parents instead of loophole out of their authority and try to use someone else’s) at their child’s school depending on their age (where some of their authority has temporarily been given over to the teacher or administration). However, while parents make up the second largest percent of challenges against books (32%) only 37% of all challenges occur at schools or school libraries with the majority happening at public libraries (59%) by other local library users (33%).
Books are also not the only things get challenged and for some, removal of the book includes vandalism, theft and destruction (burning books). In 2018 62% of all challenges or censorship actions in libraries were against books, but 15% of challenges were against meetings, 10% were against databases, films and games and 6% were about artwork. This scope of the challenges is the reason for the focus of censorship during banned books week as these challenges extend past the idea usually presented that books are banned because the material is “too mature” for the age group it was recommended too but has to do more with the prejudice behind those promoting the bans and can create an horrific self-fulfilling prophecy as those who were limited in the experiences and connections to these book will remain close-minded and become the passionate censorship leaders of our future.

This picture, of this expression, is perfect for him because I am still so unsure of him. I remember reading the 6th book and becoming even more uncertain (thou, of course, a large part of that was probably confusion from reading it within 48 hours while travelling cross-country) and still am to this day. But as the biggest contradictory and confusion, he has a lot to teach us.
Bullying is horrendous. I remember that Lily separately both (1) ended her friendship with Snape because of the whispers/rumours of him and his friends that were all related to pre-Death Eater activities and (2) later dated, fell in love, and married James Potter (which is a whole different thing that I need more information on because he really was privileged asswipe). But while they both hurt Snape tremendously, this was just on top of the years of torment James, Lupin, Sirius and Peter bullied him. In the flashbacks and history, we know that Snape had a terrible home (unlike James) and then, with this hatred of the world, goes to a school where he thought things would get better and this guy just beats down on him for being poor and odd. Dumbledore’s statement that “maybe we sort too early” was accurate, and came a bit too late. As later expressed Snape was courageous in the moment and whom you are housed with matters and maybe had Snape been in a different house he would have had more time with positive and loving peer influencers like Lily and less with future Death Eaters. So yeah, things could have all been very different. That picture of Daniel Radcliffe probably not, but could have been an outcome for Harry with his parents being Lily and Snape but the things that happen to us when we’re young may not break us but do define us.
This one is also tricky and not one I 100% agree with but see accurately represented in the books. Albus always insisted Harry call him Professor Snape. While I don’t believe in “respecting your elders” and, yeah, Dumbledore could’ve done more to ease this relationship he was overall right. Snape had a very traumatic life and while he was selfish and only came thru when it came to Lily, he still did with great harm to himself and was someone who should be respected because there were things he could teach Harry, thou not easily as both were incredibly stubborn. But on the other side, while Snape really needed to grow up when it came to Harry personally, there are teachers who are truly terrible and because of tenure stick around and should be fired and looked at to more by parents and teachers. On the other hand, especially in the states, teachers do so much more than parents and students and outsiders who don’t listen to the teachers they know realize. In one of the best funded and elite public-school districts we have, there are still young teachers I know who shell out a minimum of $400.00 a semester for thing their students NEED, let alone extra things they think can help their students progress. So before we whine and moan, remember that in most cases our teachers (and most people in public service) do more than we realize and are human; but there is a chance they might not be and if after a bit of reflection see that a teacher is either lazy or a bully report them, and parents, please listen.
Touched on by both parts above, we are reminded by Snape that (1) Bullying is bad, and (2) People are Human, both of these combine and remind us about the terrible cycles that people and generations can get involved in. The bullied become the bullies, the abused become the abusers. You never know what someone is going thru. Like the Dementors, Snape (which I feel weird referring to him now from writing our passage two) represented a lot of rough and upsettings things that can happen in life. But as with most clouds, there is a silver lining. If given another chance Snape would have tried to have been a better person, hold his temper more, see evil for what it truly was earlier on. If not able to change a thing, then I have no doubt he would have relived his life again in order to save Harry for Lily, all in the name of love. Always.
Side note: As contradictory and confusing as Snape is, and why with no one really knowing him, Harry felt he and those like him should be honoured. I get that part. But I will never accept that a child was named after him instead of Hagrid. Never! (But that’s a different issue of course).
I’m diseased of adults
Assuming the worst from me
When it is just me
Then they give me a hard time
For nothing
I’m diseased of being a millennial
And adults assuming
That I’m lazy
And addicted to my phone
When it’s just me who just so happens to be different
I’m tired of feeling
Like I’m worthless
And no one will ever
Truly
Fall in love with just me and I them
I’m diseased
Of teachers
Thinking they are better
Because of a degree
At the moment I’m just 1,000 degrees of rage
I don’t want to go to school
I don’t want this factory process
Of being separated
Embarrassed
And torn apart
I’m diseased of being a product
And not a person
The only thing I’ve learned from school
Is that if you don’t want to be bent around
Then keep your mouth shut
I’m diseased with adults
Smoldering my fire
My passion
My,
Will to live and carry on…

I'm an educator and I'm currently considering a different occupation because I can't afford shit. The most infuriating thing is all of this listed above and then people having the audacity to look you in the eye and thank you for the work you do and how blessed teachers are. Or being told that it's a "thankless profession and people aren't teachers for the pay, they're there for the good of children everywhere." A big ol' Fuck You to everyone who has said that to me with a smile on their faces but still don't think we deserve more than what we get.
The teachers in their different school “house groups”:
The students:
Yup. I remember being so confused at the age of 12 when my 7th grade homeroom teacher introduced me as DAIANA (Eng pronunciation: Diana) to the rest of my class. It was my first grade in U.S.A. I had to play it cool because I was learning English and this was the States after all, so I had to start with my name, right? It wasn’t until college I reclaimed my name back: Diana (Spanish pronunciation please, Deeana). Many white folks and color folks ask me why do I bother on correcting people every time they mispronounce my name (which is about 90% of the time) and I say because DAIANA is not my name and I refuse to give up my real name, not anymore. I don’t need a mispronounced name, I have one of my own. Say it right.
In a new video, Adam Levine-Peres, an educator in the Bronx, talks about the importance of teachers, especially white teachers, learning how to pronounce the names of Black and Brown students properly. He says pronouncing the students’ names correctly “will go along way in the classroom”, otherwise there might be lack of trust, students might end up giving up on things like their teacher gave up on saying their name the right way.

Teacher: I’ll do my best to work with students who have any sort of health issues.
Me: *misses one day due to my health issues*
Teacher: Well you were absent so it’s your responsibility to figure everything out.
*deep breath*
Ok so once in high school there was this guy who used to make weed candy by melting sugar and mixing it with tobacco extracts and he used to give it to random people saying his grandma made us some candy. We all used to eat it and it was only after some time that we realized we were getting high off them.
He even managed to slip some to a teacher but she didn’t really notice for a long time. People got curious and there was another boy in class who spied on her and found out that she comes to class after smoking. We got her arrested, but none of us ever told anyone about the boy’s candies.
I wanna make a [tumblr] fake post so bad.
